European AI Infrastructure Startup Velatir Raises €5m to Accelerate AI Adoption Across the Continent
Velatir, a Danish AI infrastructure startup, has secured €5m in seed funding to expand its operations across Europe. The company aims to provide businesses with control and transparency over employee use of AI tools.

Danish AI infrastructure startup Velatir has made significant strides in the European market by raising €5m in seed funding. This investment was led by Nordic VC Spintop Ventures and Danish VC Ugly Duckling Ventures, with existing investors Norrsken Evolve, Jan Oberhauser, CEO of n8n, and Thomas Visti, former CEO of Universal Robots, also participating in the round.
The Export and Investment Fund of Denmark joined the round, further solidifying Velatir's position in the European market. The company's platform helps businesses manage and control employee use of AI tools across their devices, providing a much-needed solution for companies navigating the complexities of AI adoption.
According to CEO Michael Blicher Sørensen, the emergence of AI has introduced numerous complexities to business processes, making it challenging for companies to deploy and utilize AI tools effectively. Velatir aims to address this issue by providing businesses with control and transparency over employee use of AI tools.
Velatir's platform has seen strong traction since its pre-seed in January, with 80k customers across 30k applications and devices. The company is growing at a rate of 50-60% month on month, with customers based across the Nordics, the Netherlands, France, and the UK.
With the new funding, Velatir plans to scale its operations across Europe, opening offices in key locations such as Stockholm and Paris. The company's current team of 30 people is expected to nearly double by year-end.
Velatir targets mid-market companies with its subscription-based business model, offering flat rates depending on the industry and the number of employees. The company's focus on European-owned and hosted infrastructure sets it apart from competitors like CrowdStrike and Microsoft's E7 suite, which are often limited to large enterprises.
As CEO Michael Blicher Sørensen notes, Velatir's decision to build its platform on European infrastructure was a deliberate choice, driven by a desire to promote European businesses and reduce reliance on American hyperscalers.
| **Company** | **Industry** | **Employees** | | --- | --- | --- | | Velatir | AI Infrastructure | 30 | | CrowdStrike | Cybersecurity | N/A | | Microsoft's E7 suite | Enterprise Software | N/A |
Velatir's commitment to European infrastructure and its focus on mid-market companies make it an attractive solution for businesses looking to adopt AI without sacrificing control and transparency. With its strong growth rate and expanding operations, Velatir is poised to make a significant impact in the European AI market.
